Endometrium show hyperplastic endometrial glands, are non-secretory, formed of moderately branched glands lined by 1-2 layers of cells with moderate crowdness. Stroma is cellular. Some of the hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Myometrial tumors are benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. One of them is moderately cellular and shows entrapped myometrial glands. No evidence of malignancy. Cervix shows moderate endocervicitis with napothian cyst. Fibrotic cyst wall lined by a single layer of cuboidal non-mucigenic cells. No evidence of epithelial piling up or cytological atypia. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. Fallopian tube is unremarkable. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Fibroid uterus.
Total abdominal hysterectomy with left salpingoopherectomy: The uterus measured 9.5 x 7.5 x 5 cm, and the cervix measured 2.8 cm in length. Upon sectioning, the myometrial wall thickness measured 2.5 cm, and the endometrium measured 0.5 cm in thickness. The uterus showed multiple fibroid masses, the largest of which measured 3 x 2.5 cm. The left fallopian tube measured 5 cm, long, grossly unremarkable. The left ovary measured 3.5 x 3 x 2 cm; it was almost entirely replaced by a cyst filled with gelatinous material.
