Gastric mucosa showing marked infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is evidence of inflammatory activity manifested by some neutrophils infiltrating glands. H. pylori characteristic forms are seen. Focal intestinal metaplasia is noted, however there is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.
The patient shows significant healing of a previous gastric ulcer, but currently presents with persistent tissue abnormalities (granularity, thickening, and nodularity) in the antral and pyloric regions of the stomach, along with mild pyloric stenosis.
Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1 cm, totally embedded.
