Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p>Fragments of focally decidualized endometrial stroma with entrapped glands. The latter are disordered proliferative. The non-secretory glands are focally branching. Such changes may be produced by irregular hormone therapy or a persistent corpus luteum. Unremarkable endocervical and ectocervical epithelium is observed. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p>
<p>Thickened endometrium with dysfunctional uterine bleeding.</p>
<p>Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 2x1.5x0.7 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Endometrial biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Irregular gland-stromal maturation with stromal decidualization.</strong></li><li><strong> Negative for atypia.</strong></li></ul>
