Submitted biopsy showing focally ulcerated mucosal fragments with related septic granulation tissue formed of proliferating capillaries separated by edematous stroma densely infiltrated by lymphocytes, histiocytes, plasma cells and many neutrophils. Rest of fragments feature intact colonic mucosa with mild reduction in the number of mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. However, crypt abscesses are not identified. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
Cecal and ileocecal valve ulcers.
Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.7 cm, totally embedded.
