Submitted biopsy material shows detached squamous epithelium, dystrophic calcification and focal involvement by suppurative inflammation centered around bluish colonies of spore forming organisms with hyphae. Picture is consistent with actinomycosis. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Smears show mild inflammatory changes with fungal hyphae and spores.
