Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change observed in the both lobe sections. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p>
<p>Multinodular goiter.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen consisting of two lobes and an isthmus with intact capsule. The right lobe measured 7.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm and the left lobe measured 8 x 4 x 3 cm. Isthmus measured 1 x 1 cm. Serial sectioning through both lobes revealed multiple gray, nodules of varying sizes, the largest nodule measured 2 x 1.8 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
