(1) Ileal mucosa showing moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells with scattered neutrophils. Villi are intact and are negative for atrophy and ulceration. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.
2) Colonic mucosa showing focal erosion with mild reduction in the number of mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. However, crypt abscesses are not identified. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
(3) Intact colonic mucosa mildly infiltrated by lymphocytes and plasma cells with scattered neutrophils. Mucigenic cells are intact and no evidence of crypt abscesses. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.

1- Terminal ileum: soft tissue fragments collectively measured in aggregate 1 cm, totally embedded in one cassette.
2- Cecum: soft tissue fragments collectively measured in aggregate 0.9 cm, totally embedded in one cassette.
3- Distal sigmoid: soft tissue fragments collectively measured in aggregate 1 cm, totally embedded in one cassette.
