Polyps are composed of cystic mucous glands with separating stroma showing dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is focal ulceration of covering epithelium. No evidence of malignancy.
Bleeding per rectum. Two distal rectal polyps, removed by hot snare as endoscopic mucosal resection.
