<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Sections show cysts lined by single layer of tall columnar mucus secreting cells which are dominantly devoid of atypia) specimen 1), however, in some foci lining cells appear to show tendency for piling up with some nuclear enlargement and hyperchromasia. In some sections wall shows glandular formations lined by same type of cells (specimen 2). This cyst is of borderline malignancy. </li><li class="ql-align-justify">Smear show cohesive cell clusters with vacuolated cytoplasm against a mucinous and proteinaceous background. No evidence of malignancy (specimen 4).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Omental tissue is free of tumors (specimen 3).</li></ul>
<p>Bilateral ovarian cyst.</p>
<p>Four specimens were received:</p><ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Three intact cysts, first measured 9.5x8x8 cm, having smooth outer sir fade and filled with yellowish fluid, second measured 4x3x2.8 cm filled with gelatinous material, third measured 3x2.5x2 cm.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Five growth areas in the ovary; soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3.5x3x1 cm, totally embedded.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Omental tissue biopsy: One fatty soft tissue piece measured 3.5x3x0.5 cm.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Ovarian fluid: Five ml pale yellow fluid, one smear was prepared and pap stained.</li></ol>
<p><strong><em><u>Lt. ovarian cystectomy with fluid cytology and omental biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Borderline mucinous tumor. </strong></li><li><strong>Omentum is unremarkable. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li><li><strong>Follow up is recommended. </strong></li></ul>
