Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change observed in the both lobe sections. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. One unremarkable parathyroid gland is identified. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.
Follicular nodule by FNAC
Total thyroidectomy consisting of two thyroid lobes and an isthmus with intact capsule. The first lobe measured 4 x 2 x 1.5 cm and showed a fleshy cut surface. The second lobe measured 4.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm and showed four small nodules, the largest of which measured 0.7 cm in its greatest dimension and exhibited a grey color. Isthmus measured 1 cm.
