A benign polypoid lesion of anal canal origin, it is covered by partially ulcerated non-keratinizing stratified squamous epithelium. Core is fibrotic and shows dilated congested veins (hemorrhoids). There is focal infiltration of core of polyp by infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Known case with hemorrhoids and chronic anal fissure presented by anal ulcer at 7 o’clock position.
One soft tissue fragment measured 1x0.5x0.4 cm, totally embedded.
