Appendicular lumen is distended and appendicular epithelium is extensively ulcerated and reduced in few foci to a flat layer of simple columnar mucigenic epithelium. Areas of ulceration are seen related to dense non-specific inflammation rich in neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells with histiocytes. This infiltrate extends to involve the whole thickness of the thick and fibrotic wall. No evidence of malignancy.
