Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Esophageal biopsy shows focal glandular metaplasia of the covering squamous epithelium. Glands are of the gastric type and there is related mild infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Large clean based esophageal ulcer with irregular margin.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<h3><strong><em><u>Esophageal biopsy:</u></em></strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Metaplastic columnar epithelium (gastric type). </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for intestinal metaplasia</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for dysplasia.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
