Endometrium is non-secretory and hyperplastic, it is formed of branching glands exhibiting moderate cystic dilatation with lining by 1-3 layers of cells amid cellular stroma. No evidence of complex pattern, atypia or malignancy. Some of these hyperplastic endometrial glands are seen embedded within superficial myometrium (the sampled rubbery area). Myometrial tumor is a benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. No evidence of malignancy. Cervix show Napothian cyts with mild endocervicites. Rt ovarian fibrotic cyst wall lined by a single layer of cuboidal non-mucigenic cells. No evidence of epithelial piling up or cytological atypia. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. Lt ovarian cyst lined by several layers of polygonal luteinized cells with interstitial hemorrhage into wall. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Abnormal uterine bleeding
A panhysterectomy specimen was received. The uterus measured 9.5 x 7.5 x 6 cm. On sectioning, the myometrium measured 3 cm in thickness, and the cervix measured 3 cm in length. The endometrium measured 0.5 cm in thickness. Also received a separate solid, and rubbery whitish fibroid mass measuring 12 x 8.5 x 7.5 cm. The right ovary measured 3 x 1.5 x 1 cm, showing a unilocular cyst measured 1.5 x 1 cm, and the left ovary measured 3 x 2 x 1.5 cm, showing a unilocular cyst measured1.5x1.3cm.The right and left fallopian tubes measured 5cm,each, both were grossly unremarkable.
