<p class="ql-align-justify">Sections from wide local excision of lip show focal residual squamous cell carcinoma composed of groups and cords of atypical squamous cells infiltrating the subepithelial stroma. Surgical resection margins are negative for malignancy</p><ul><li><strong>SPECIMEN TYPE:</strong> Wide local excision of lip lesion.</li><li><strong>TUMOR TYPE: </strong>squamous cell carcinoma.</li><li><strong>TUMOR GRADE:</strong> 1.</li><li><strong>MUSCLE INVOLVEMENT:</strong> Tumor does not involve skeletal muscle.</li><li><strong>TUMOR SIZE:</strong> Maximum tumor dimension is 2.5 cm.</li><li><strong>DEPTH OF INVASION:</strong> Depth of invasion is 1 cm (10 mm).</li><li><strong>RESIDUAL TUMOR (SECOND SPECIMEN): </strong>Second specimen shows focal residual invasive squamous cell carcinoma.</li><li><strong>RESIDUAL MARGIN STATUS:</strong> Free.</li><li><strong>LYMPHOVASCULAR INVASION:</strong> Not identified.</li><li><strong>PERINEURAL INVASION: </strong>Not identified.</li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>PATHOLOGIC STAGE:</strong> pT2 (AJCC 8th edition).</li></ul>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Wide excision of lower lip lesion, diagnosed on biopsy as squamous cell carcinoma grade 1 with tumor extends to excision margin (pathology number 3193-2026 on 15 May 2026).</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Mucosa with underlying soft tissue measured 2.5x1.5x1 cm, showing fairly defined ulcerated mass measuring 1.9x1 cm. Margins of excision ranged from 0.2 to 0.3 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>WIDE LOCAL EXCISION OF LIP :</u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Residual SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA, grade 1.</strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>MARGINS NEGATIVE. </strong></li></ul>
