Submitted fragments show a fibrotic cyst wall with related dense sclerotic bone and normocellular marrow. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Cytological smear shows a paucicellular sample containing rare, benign spindle cells and histiocytes in a hemorrhagic background.
Left tibial lesion: A central, expansible intramedullary cystic lesion localized to the diaphysis of the left tibia. The mass exhibits focal hemorrhage/calcification, and peripheral rim/septal enhancement post-contrast. There is a smooth cortex with no bone marrow edema, soft tissue extension, or pathological fracture.
Two samples were submitted:
1- Soft tissue and bone fragments collectively measured 2.5x1.8x0.7 cm, totally embedded.
2- Four ml reddish fluid with pus?? ?, one smear was prepared and pap stained.
