Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows focal dense infiltration by lymphocytes amounting at the formation of lymphoid follicles with intact active germinal centers. Related follicles are degenerated with evidence of oxyphil change of the follicular epithelium. No evidence of malignancy or hyperfunction.</p>
<p>Goiter</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen received as two lobes with intact capsule. The first lobe measured 3.3 x 1.5 x 1 cm, the second lobe measured 3 x 1.5 x 1 cm; serial sectioning showed a greyish cut section.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hashimoto's thyroiditis.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
