<p class="ql-align-justify">Smear shows a dense population of neutrophils with some small lymphocytes as well as reactive mesothelial cells. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p>Recurrent pleural effusion.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">One smear was prepared and stained from submitted 20 ml pale yellow fluid with pus.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Pleural fluid, conventional cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong> Marked inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong> Negative for malignant cells. </strong></li><li><strong>Category II according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC.</strong></li></ul>
