<ul><li>Some of the submitted fragments show esophageal mucosa is extensively ulcerated with related capillary proliferation and dense infiltration by lymphocytes, neutrophils and plasma cells. No evidence of glandular metaplasia. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. Picture is consistent with GERD.</li><li>Other fragments show polypoid lesion composed of hyperplastic gastric mucous glands. Core shows mild infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. H. pylori characteristic forms are not seen. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</li></ul>
<p>Heartburn and vomiting. Gastroscopic revealed severe esophagitis with sloughing with antral polyp. </p>
<p>Fragments of collective size 1x1 cm. </p>
<p><strong><em><u>Esophageal and gastric antral polyp, endoscopic biopsies:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Esophageal active inflammatory ulceration, consistent with GERD.</strong></li><li><strong>Gastric inflamed hyperplastic polyp.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for H. Pylori infection.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for dysplasia and malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
