<p class="ql-align-justify">Placenta shows unremarkable histologic features, no evidence of infarcts, calcification, villitis or amnionitis. No evidence of viral inclusions or other inflammations. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">A primigravida pregnancy (G1P0+0) at 22 weeks of gestation complicated by sudden intrauterine fetal death, with the placenta submitted for histopathological examination.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Two soft tissue pieces collectively measured 3x2.2x1 cm, having spongy cut section, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Placenta (22 weeks gestation, intrauterine fetal demise):</u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Unremarkable histologic features.</strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for tumors. </strong></li></ul>
