(1) Gastric mucosa showing moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is evidence of inflammatory activity manifested by some neutrophils infiltrating glands. H. pylori characteristic forms are seen. Focal intestinal metaplasia is noted, however there is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.
(2) Duodenal mucosa show focal moderate villous atrophy associated intraepithelial lymphocytosis and crypt hyperplasia malignancy with submucosal mild infiltrate of lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Circumferential ring-like lesion at the gastric antrum with fissuring of duodenal mucosa.
Two biopsies were submitted:
1- Gastric: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.7 cm, totally embedded.
2- Duodenal: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded.
