Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p>Sections examined show clotted blood entangling few inflammatory cells, detached unremarkable ectocervical and endocervical epithelium. There is few microscopic foci showing hyperplastic cyto and syncytiotrophoblastic cells exhibiting mild to moderate atypia. However, no evidence of fetal tissues or chorionic villi. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Suspected recurrent vesicular mole.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Bloody soft tissue fragments collectively measured 12x9.5x0.7 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Uterine contents, D & C biopsy: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Blood clot with unremarkable ectocervical and endocervical epithelium.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for fetal tissues or chorionic villi.</strong></li><li><strong>Few dysplastic cyto and syncytiotrophoblastic tissue.</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>COMMENT:</u></strong></p><p>Correlation with sonographic findings to exclude the presence of uterine mass lesion and close monitoring of serum level of beta hCG till normalization are essential.</p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p><p><br></p>
