Diagnosis
<p>Myometrial tumors and the separately submitted ones are benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. Endometrium is hyperplastic and non-secretory. It is formed of moderately branching glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 1-2 layers of cells. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Ovareis, fallopian tubes and cervix are unremrkable. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p>
<p>Uterine myoma.</p>
<p>Panhysterectomy specimen; Uterus 12x8.5x6.5 cm with endometrium 0.5 cm and 3.3 cm thick wall showing three fibroids 0.3x0.3 cm and 1.5x1.5 cm. Cervix is 3cm long. Ovaries are 3x2 cm each, grossly unremarkable. Fallopian tubes are 5 cm long, each. Separately submitted, fibroid measures 13x9x8 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Panhysterectomy and myomectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leiomyomas.</strong></li><li><strong>Moderate simple endometrial hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for atypia. </strong></li></ul>
