Endometrium and polypoid lesion formed of non-secretory hyperplastic endometrium, it is formed of branching glands exhibiting moderate cystic dilatation with focal crowdness. Glands are lined by 1-3 layers of cells. Stroma is compact with scattered thick walled blood vessels. No evidence of complex pattern. Islands of these endometrial glands and stroma are seen entrapped deep within myometrium. Cervix shows Nabothian cysts. Ovaries are atrophic. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Postmenopausal uterine bleeding.
Panhysterectomy specimen; Uterus 8.5x7x5 cm with 0.5 cm thick endometrium, intracavitary polyp 4x1.5 cm and 3 cm thick wall showing focal trabeculation. Cervix is 3 cm long. Ovaries are 2.3x1.5 cm each, grossly unremarkable. Fallopian tubes are 5 cm long, each.
