<p class="ql-align-justify">Submitted cystic mass is a lymph node with cystic degeneration secondary to a metastatic carcinoma formed of papillae as well as few follicles covered by cuboidal and elongated cells with vesicular, focally clefted nuclei. Cores are delicate and fibrovascular.</p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p>
<p>Rt. cervical cyst.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue piece measured 2.5x2x0.8 cm, showing cyst measured 2 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Neck cyst, excision: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong> Metastatic cystic papillary carcinoma (in lymph node).</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>COMMENT:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Primary origin of this tumor is mostly in thyroid gland or papillary carcinoma in thyroglossal duct cyst. However correlation with thyroid imaging and isotopic scanning is essential for confirming this possibility before any surgical intervention. </li><li>Marker study (thyroglobulin and TTF1) may also be of help in this respect.</li></ul>
