<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No </p><p>evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy. </p>
<p>Thyroid enlargement.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen showing Rt. & Lt. lobes 6x3x2.5 cm and 7x3x2 cm, respectively. The isthmus measured 2x1 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact. Serial sectioning revealed multiple nodules in both lobes. Rt lobe nodules ranged in size from 0.5 cm to 1.5 cm. Lt thyroid nodules ranged in size from 0.5 cm to 1 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
