Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Polypoid lesions formed of hyperplastic crowded glands with preserved mucigenic activity. Stroma is fibrotic and shows moderate chronic inflammatory reaction composed of lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">A patient with a known history of colonic polyposis syndrome status-post rectosigmoidectomy and hemicolectomy, now presenting for histopathological evaluation of two ileocecal polyps and a single ileal polyp. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Two small soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.4 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ileocecal polyps, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hyperplastic polyps, inflamed.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy.</strong></li></ul>
