<p class="ql-align-justify">There is focal glandular metaplasia of the esophageal squamous epithelium. Glands are of the intestinal type and lamina propria shows moderate infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes and plasma cells. Other fragments shows areas of mild to moderate reparative dysplasia. No evidence of frank malignancy in the submitted material.</p>
<p>Gastric subcardial circumferential mass with ulceration.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Gastroesophageal junction biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li>Barrett's esophagitis (intestinal type) with focal moderate dysplasia.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>COMMENT:</u></strong></p><p>In view of submitted endoscopic findings regrading presence of mass lesion, please make sure that the submitted material is representative from the described gastro-esophageal mass, otherwise, deeper rebiopsy is recommended if malignancy is still suspicious.</p>
