<p>Submitted fragments show totally ulcerated mucosa with related infiltration by sheets of intermediate sized undifferentiated crushed round cells with scanty cytoplasm. Anaplasia and mitosis are moderate. Possibilities include undifferentiated carcinoma and NHL. Marker study (CK, p63, CEA, Synaptophysin, CD20 and Ki-67) is recommended to determine nature of such infiltrate.</p>
<p>Lower esophageal circumferential ulcerated mass at 30 cm from dental arch and extending down to the cardia.</p>
<p>Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1 cm, totally embedded</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Lower esophageal mass, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Atypical undifferentiated round cell infiltrate.</strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for typing by marker study.</strong></li></ul>
