Submitted soft tissues and bony fragments show dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells, and macrophages with related capillary proliferation. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.
Left leg biopsy: History of prior trauma and a suspected recurrent acute-on-chronic osteomyelitis of the tibia, presenting with a thick-septated, peripherally enhancing intramedullary and periosteal collection associated with cortical sclerosis, a sequestrum, a cloaca, and an active sinus tract extending through the adjacent soft tissue to the skin.
