Diagnosis
<p>Intact rectal mucosa with mild reduction in the number of mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. However, crypt abscesses are not identified. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells. </p>
<p>Chronic constipation. Endoscopy revealed hyperemic rectal mucosa. </p>
<p>Fragments of collective size 6x4 mm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Rectum, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Moderate chronic proctitis with minimal inflammatory activity. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for dysplasia and malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
