Both biopsies show Superficial biopsy material with intact hyperplastic stratified squamous epithelium. No evidence of intestinal or gastric metaplasia. No evidence of eosinophilic esophagitis. One fragment in the second biopsy shows lamina propria involved by moderate chronic non specific inflammatory infiltrate. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.
Epigastric pain and heartburn. Endoscopy: GERD grade C with esiphagitis? Esinophilic esiphagitis.
Two biopsies were received:
1- Esophageal papules: soft tissue is measured 0.5 cm, totally embedded.
2- Esophageal mucoss: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1 cm, totally embedded.
