<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Cyst wall shows partial lining by stratified squamous epithelium with related sebaceous glands and some hair follicles. There are islands of glandular epithelium, mature cartilage, mature smooth muscles and mature adipose tissue. Wall of cyst shows luteal cyst and corpora albicans. No evidence of immature elements. No evidence of malignancy.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Omental tissue shows mild chronic non specific inflammation with fibrosis, negative for malignancy.</li></ul>
<p>Ovarian cyst? Dermoid cyst.</p>
<p>Two specimens were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Intact cyst measured 4.5x3.8x3 cm, with smooth outer surface, filled with yellowish greasy material and hair.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Omental tissue measured 5x2x0.8 cm, unremarkable grossly.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ovarian cystectomy and omental sampling:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Mature (benign) cystic teratoma.</strong></li><li><strong>Inflamed omental tissue with fibrosis. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
