Sections show gastric hyperplastic polyps composed of elongated, tortuous, and focally cystically dilated foveolar glands lined by reactive mucinous epithelium. The lamina propria is expanded by chronic inflammatory cells amounting at areas to form lymphoid follicles. Helicobacter pylori organisms are identified within the surface mucus layer. Areas of inetsinal metaplasia are seen. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
