Submitted biopsy material is dominantly composed of mildly inflamed colonic mucosa. Only two tiny pieces of tissue showing completely ulcerated mucosa with related capillary proliferation and dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes and plasma cells admixed with large round atypical hyperchromatic cells. In view of submitted data regarding the presence of large pelvic mass, such foci is suspicious but inconclusive of underlying malignancy. Deeper re-biopsy from the mass is recommended or a trial of marker study (CD3, CD20 and CK) may be of help to establish definitive diagnosis.

Active inflammatory ulceration with septic granulation tissue & few foci of atypical large cells, inconclusive for malignancy. Recommended for deeper re-biopsy or a trial of marker study.
