Tumor tissue cores composed of sheets of large undifferentiated malignant cells exhibiting marked anaplasia and active mitosis. There is focal tumor necrosis. Possibilities for this tumor include large cell lymphoma and undifferentiated carcinoma. Marker study (CK, LCA, CD20, CD3, HMB45, Ki-67) is needed to subtype tumor.
