Myometrial tumor is a benign leiomyoma formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. Endometrium is hyperplastic and non-secretory. It is formed of mildly cystic glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 1-2 layers of cells. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Ovaries show cystic follicles and corpus luteum. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. Fallopian tubes and cervix are unremarkable. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Uterine fibroid.
Panhysterectomy specimen: The uterus measured 9 x 7 x 5 cm and includes a cervix measuring 3 cm in length. Cut section revealed a myometrium measuring 2.5 cm in thickness that contained a well circumscribed rubbery whitish fibroid mass measuring 3.5 x 3 x 3 cm. The endometrium measured 0.5 cm in thickness. The right ovary measured 2.3 x 1.5 x 1 cm, showing unilcular cyst 1.3 cm, and the left ovary measured 1.5 x 1 x 0.8 cm; the right and left fallopian tubes measured 5 x 0.5 cm each, all are unremarkable grossly.
