1- Endometrium is hyperplastic and non-secretory. It is formed of moderately branching and focally crowded glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 2-3 layers of cells. No evidence of atypia.
2- Polypoid lesion composed of hyperplastic endocervical mucous glands. Covering epithelium is intact and showing areas of squamous metaplasia. Stroma is fibrotic and vascular. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Vaginal discharge with small spotting bleeding. O/E: hypertrophic cervix.
Two biopsies were received
1- Endometrial D & C biopsy: bloody soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3x2.5x0.7 cm, totally embedded.
1- Cervical biopsy: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3x2.8x1.2 cm.
