Sections show preserved nodal architecture with reactive lymphoid follicles displaying prominent germinal centers and well-defined mantle zones. The paracortex is diffusely expanded by a polymorphous population of small mature lymphocytes admixed with scattered immunoblasts and occasional plasma cells, consistent with reactive paracortical hyperplasia. Mild sinus histiocytosis is present. The capsule and adjacent perinodal soft tissue exhibit chronic inflammatory cell infiltrates with focal vascular congestion and edema, in keeping with periadenitis. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy.
Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3.5x3x1 cm, largest measuring 2.3x1.5x1 cm.
