Myometrial tumor are benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. Endometrium and intracavitary polyp are hyperplastic and non-secretory, formed of mildly branching glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 1-2 layers of cells. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of hyperplastic endometrial glands are seen embedded within deep myometrium. Cervix show mild endocervicitis with napothian cysts. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Chronic pelvic pain with adenomyosis.
Total vaginal hysterectomy: uterus measured 8x5.5x4 cm, with my one trial thickness of 2 cm, showing two fibroid masses largest measured 1.5x1 cm. Endometrial thickness measured 0.4 cm with intracavitary polyp measuring 0.6 cm. Cervix measured 3 cm long, grossly unremarkable.
