Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change observed in the left lobe sections. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p>
<p>Multinodular goiter.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen with intact capsule consisted of two lobes and an isthmus. The first lobe measures 4 x 2.5x 2 cm and cut section revealed almost replacement by a cystic nodule measuring 3.2 cm containing brown fluid. The second lobe measured 3.5 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm with multinodular cut sections. Isthmus measured 1 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia with gross cystic change. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
