Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">A cellular non-capsulated tumor showing stipiform pattern of proliferating fibroblasts and histiocyte-like cells. Anaplasia is mild and mitotic activity is increased. All margins in the submitted fragments are reached by tumor. Confirmatory marker study is recommended (CD34).</p>
<p>Scalp mass</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3.9x2.8x cm, with the largest measuring 3.1x1.8x1 cm and covered by skin, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Scalp lesion, excision:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Dermatofibrosarcoma, low grade. </strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for confirmatory marker study.</strong></li><li><strong>Margins of excision are infiltrated by tumor. </strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>COMMENT</strong>:</p><h5>This tumor is of low malignant potential but due to absence of surrounding tissue clearance, local recurrence is a very likely possibility, hence wider excision of tumor bed is recommended. </h5>
