Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">1- Fibrotic cyst wall lined by a single layer of cuboidal non-mucigenic cells. No evidence of epithelial piling up or cytological atypia. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. </p><p class="ql-align-justify">2-Smears are hemorrhagic and show a mild number of neutrophils and small lymphocytes with scattered histiocytes. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells. </p>
<p>Ovarian cyst</p>
<p>Two samples were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Ovarian cystectomy: Opened cyst: received fragmented of collective size 3.5x3x1.3 cm, totally embedded.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Fluid, cytology: 10 ml brownish fluid from which 2 slides were prepared and strained.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ovarian cystectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Simple serous cyst. Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Fluid, cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hemorrhagic hypocellular, negative for malignant cells. </strong></li></ul>
