Some of the submitted fragments are devoid of mucosa with related dense inflammatory infiltrate rich in polymorphs with lymphocytes and plasma cells and associated with capillary proliferation. Other fragments show atrophic gastric mucosa antral type with moderate infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is associated focal intestinal metaplasia. H. pylori characteristic forms are seen colonizing glands. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. No evidence of malignant cells, however, endoscopy and rebiopsy after treatment of inflammation is advised to exclude any hidden more serious pathology.
