<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Sections examined from the grayish nodule shows a benign well encapsulated tumor formed of almost empty small follicles or full of minimal colloid and lined by unremarkable cuboidal cells. No evidence of capsular or vascular invasion. Adjacent thyroid tissue showing nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">The attached mass is benign non-capsulated soft tissue tumor formed of lobules of mature fat cells separated by delicate fibrovascular trabeculae. No evidence of malignancy.</li></ul>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Huge neck swelling, clinically diagnosed as multinodular goiter. Total thyroidectomy done with excision of cervical lipoma.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroidectomy specimen composed of two thyroid lobes and isthmus with intact capsule: the first lobe measured 6.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm and showed a well-circumscribed, greyish nodule measured 4 x 3 x 2.8 cm. The second love measured 5x3.5x2 cm, having fleshy cut surface. Isthmus measured 1 cm.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">Also attached is a soft tissue fatty mass measured 1.5x1 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Thyroid, total thyroidectomy and excision of neck cervical swelling:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Microfollicular adenoma.</strong></li><li><strong>No capsular or vascular invasion.</strong></li><li><strong>Associated nodular colloid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Cervical lipoma.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
