<p class="ql-align-justify">There is mild and diffuse parenchymal atrophy of salivary tissue with moderate periductal infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Two lymph nodes show preserved normal nodal pattern and hyperplasia of the lymphoid follicles which retain active and intact germinal centers with tingible body macrophages. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.</p>
<p>Submandibular gland excision.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Submandibular gland measured 3.5x2.8x1.5 cm, with attached fatty tissue measuring 2x1 cm, entangling 2 lymph nodes, largest measured 1 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Submandibular gland and lymph node, excision:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Chronic non-specific sialadenitis.</strong></li><li><strong>Reactive follicular lymphoid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
