All grossly detected lesions show exophytic skin lesions showing papillary formations of hyperkeratotic and markedly acanthotic stratified squamous epithelium densely rich in melanin pigment. There are multiple horn pseudocysts. Upper dermis shows focal infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of malignancy and excision of lesion looks complete.
Suspected congenital melanocytic nevus. The patient complains of itching and enlargement.
Four samples were received:
1- Sample 1, labeled by one short thread, skin ellipse measured 0.8x0.6x0.5 cm showing rough surface and was totally embedded.
2- Sample 2, labeled by 2 short threads: skin ellipse measured 1x0.7x0.5 cm.
3- Sample 3, labeled by one long thread: skin ellipse measured 1.6x0.8x0.5 cm, showing rough area 0.8x0.5 cm. Margins of excision ranged from 0.1 to 0.5 cm.
4- Sample 4, labeled by two long threads at the right side and one long thread superiorly: skin ellipse measured 2.5x1.5x0.5 cm, showing a fairly defined rough elevation measuring 1.3x1 cm, located 0.3 cm, 0.2 cm, 0.4 cm, and 0.8 cm from the superior, inferior, medial, and lateral margins, respectively.
