<ul><li>Procedure: Excision biopsy</li><li>Tumor Type: squamous cell carcinoma.</li><li>Histological grade: well differentiated (1).</li><li>Tumor Site: left lateral border of tongue.</li><li>Tumor Size : 1.2x1 cm.</li><li>Lymph-vascular invasion: not identified (Negative).</li><li>Perineural invasion: Not identified (Negative).</li><li>Depth of invasion: 0.6 cm.</li><li>Extent of infiltration: tumor is invading skeletal muscle superficially.</li><li>Deep margin: positive for tumor extension.</li><li>Rest of margins (anterior, posterior, lateral, medial) : ranged from 0.2 to 0.3 cm and are negative.</li><li>Pathologic Stage: pT1NxMx.</li></ul>
<p>Fungating indurated ulcer at lateral border of the tongue surrounded by leukoplakia.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">One mucosal fragment measured 1.7x1.5x0.8 cm, showing fairly defined ulcerated mass measured 1.2x 1 cm. Surgical clearance ranged from 0.2 cm to 0.3 cm. The specimen was inked and totally embedded.</p>
