<p class="ql-align-justify">Smears are hemorrhagic, show abundant thin and thick colloid and scattered follicular cells with few follicular structures arranged in macrofollicles form. Background also shows mild infiltrate of mixed inflammatory cells with some macrophages, some are hemosiderin laden. Follow up (clinical and sonographic) is recommended. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Lt thyroid nodule. Ultrasound guided FNAC.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Eleven smears were submitted and stained.</p>
<h3><strong>Thyroid, guided FNAC:</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Benign cytology, consistent with colloid nodule (Bethesda class II). </strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for follow up. </strong></li></ul><p><br></p><h4><strong>COMMENT:</strong></h4><h5 class="ql-align-justify">According to Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytology (BSRTC), for colloid nodule (benign cytology, Bethesda category II), the risk of malignancy is 0-3%, follow up both (Clinically and radiologically) is recommended.</h5><h5 class="ql-align-justify"><br></h5>
