Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is gross follicular cystic change with surrounding fibrosis and focal infiltration by hemosiderin-laden histiocytes. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Rt thyroid lobe cystic nodule.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Subtotal thyroidectomy showing right lobe measuring 6.5x3.5x2.5 cm and left lobe measuring 2.5x1.5x1.2 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact. Serial sectioning revealed almost complete replacement of right lobe by cystic lesion measuring 6x3.3x2.5, left lobe shows multinodular cut sections.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Subtotal thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia with gross cystic change. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
